The Gyrontonic® and
Gyrokinesis® Methods

 

The Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis methods are original and unique movement methods that address the entire body, opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion and creating functional strength.

Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis exercise sequences are composed of spiraling, circular movements which flow together seamlessly in rhythmic repetitions with corresponding breath patterns. Each movement flows into the next allowing the joints to move through a natural range of motion without jarring or compression. These carefully crafted sequences create balance, efficiency, strength and flexibility.

The Gyrokinesis method is practiced on a stool/chair and mat while the Gyrotonic method uses specialized equipment to guide the student into movement sequences.

These methods can be practiced in group or private classes with a qualified Gyrotonic/Gyrokinesis Trainer. The classes are adapted to fit each student’s needs and abilities from those recovering from injury or living with a disability to elite athletes.

 

Certifications & Training

I have studied the Gyrotonic and Gyrokenisis methods since 2000 and became a certified trainer in 2004 (Gyrotonic Method) and 2012 (Gyrokinesis Method).
