I sense energy everywhere.

I am a dancer, choreographer and teacher. I channel that energy into performance and multimedia projects that investigate humanity’s struggle to inhabit a constantly changing environment.

I focus on discovering the nature of physicality that exists when improvisation and set patterns interact. A paradox is created by the constant mingling of the planned and spontaneous, constructed and deconstructed.

I use this friction to probe and restructure myths, to dig deeper into how these stories can transform. An intimate gesture develops into a cacophony of motion, shattering landscapes and shedding skin to recompose what we imagine to be possible.

There is an itching at the back of the brain, a partially forgotten dream, a distant scent, an echo. By coming back to our experienced senses we’re reminded of infinite possibilities in the present moment.

What if by coming back to our natural state and understanding our connection to nature’s patterns, we can come to terms with our ever-shifting world and allow new perspectives to surface?

I grew up in upstate New York and started dancing at age seven with the Penrose Irish Dancers. After receiving a BA in Visual Media: Film with a minor in Design from The American University in Washington, DC, I came to New York City to pursue dance.

I have had the pleasure of working with various contemporary choreographers including Sean Curran, Jeff Rebudal, Jenn Frank, and Fitzgerald & Stapleton.

My own choreography has been presented at Mulberry Street Theater, Pier 63, WAX, the Panetta Movement Center, Chashama, Dance Theater Workshop, and Lehman College. With the Storm Theatre, I choreographed and performed in the productions of Eurydice, As You Like It, and The Tempest and worked with the performance group Broadville from 2007 to 2008.

In 2000, I was introduced to the GYROTONIC® Expansion System and it changed my perspective in how to train and work with energy systems in the body. I was hooked! I became a certified GYROTONIC® teacher in 2004 and a certified GYROKINESIS® teacher in 2012.

As a dancer and choreographer, I’ve studied many other forms of movement including ballet, contemporary and Irish dance as well as yoga and Alexander Technique. I'm continually inspired by all of these forms and strive to unite all my movement knowledge and experience into teaching.

I am very grateful to influential teachers/mentors Janet Panetta, Joe Moore, Deborah Hay, Ruth Zaporah, Rachel Cohen and Deborah Black as well as Master Trainers in the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® methods Erika Hassan, Tim McMinn, Juergen Bamberger, Young-Ah Kim and Adrianna Thompson.
